LAPD Devonshire Gym Before Project
During Construction
North Hills West Neighborhood Council funded a $3,500 Neighborhood Purposes Grant which, combined with grants from other councils renovated the LAPD Devonshire Gym and will result in an overall physical health and morale boost for the officers of Devonshire, one of the safest in all of LAPD.
Due to many budget constraints over the years, the gym has fallen into disrepair, and has been patched with fixes from SOLID (Supporters of Law Enforcement in Devonshire) funds and is overdue for a major overhaul. With the city’s overall cuts to Police this past year, it was not feasible for their budget to include gym renovations. SOLID’s ability to raise funds has been curtailed during the pandemic, so the funding from the North Hills West Neighborhood Council helped fulfill this need. The renovations provided by this project will continue to enhance our officer’s physical health, morale and overall community relationships in the near and long term benefiting the public at large.
After Construction
Devonshire LAPD Station’s gym renovation included refurbishing of some of the current gym equipment, installation of additional new equipment, repainting the walls, adding paneling, and adding floor matting.
