Disaster Preparedness

Disasters are a reality for Angelinos. From earthquakes to rain related issues, we need to be prepared for anything. An emergency kit is your first step to getting ready for El Niño. A good emergency kit will enable you, your family, and your pets to get by for 72 hours. It’s smart to have a kit at home, at work, and in your car. For more information on creating your emergency kit, visit ReadyLA.com.  An emergency plan is your next step. In a disaster, who do you call? Where do you go? Emergency plans help you navigate the chaos and confusion of a disaster. To get started on your emergency plan, visitReadyLA.com. Did you know the average homeowners or rental insurance policy doesn’t cover flood damage? Explore your flood risk and determine if the National Flood Insurance Program is right for you. Visit FloodSmart.gov for more information.
