LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles County Air Show
powered by Lockheed Martin, will open its gates this weekend
with a heart-pounding lineup of performances and entertainment
for the whole family March 19-20, 2016, at William J. Fox Airport.

To kick off the fun-filled weekend, the Air Show will host a Performer Meet and Greet on Friday, March 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Jethawks Stadium. As part of its 75th anniversary tribute to Pearl Harbor, the event will throw it back to the night before the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 6 1941. Honoring the past, this FREE Hawaiian themed evening offers softball (the U.S. Navy Blue Angels versus the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School), hula dancing, fire dancers, luau show and so much more! The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, returns to the Aerospace Valley along with world-class aerobatics, parachute demonstrations, wing-walking, pyrotechnics and interactive displays. This spectacular lineup includes Skip Stewart Airshows, Melissa and Rex Pemberton of Pemberton Aerosports, Shockwave Jet Truck, TinStix, Kent Pietsch Airshows, Third Strike Wing-Walking, Texas Flying Legends Museum, Planes of Fame Air Museum and more. In addition, the tribute to Pearl Harbor will continue Saturday and Sunday, as Tora! Tora! Tora! recreates the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor signaling the beginning of America’s involvement in World War II.

While the entertainment in the sky is endless, it only continues on the ground. Throughout the flight line, spectators can explore static aircraft displays, interact with pilots and crew members and experience attractions and educational exhibits designed to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). New this year are the STEM Expo Forums featuring speakers from Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Scaled Composites and NASA from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“The whole family can enjoy a weekend filled with thrilling performances, and hands-on interactive exhibits that let the imagination run wild,” said Dennis Dunbar, executive director of the Los Angeles County Air Show. “The Air Show team and our dedicated volunteers, community partners and sponsors have worked tirelessly to bring the Aerospace Valley the best of aviation while inspiring the next generation with science, technology, engineering and math with an Expo that will mesmerize and entice kids of all ages.”
