Neighbors,
I want to thank all of you for participating in Saturday’s community clean-up, hosted by the North Hills West Neighborhood Council! Our event was a success, and we couldn’t have done it without each and everyone one of you. We had 20 North Hills residents come out to beautify Roscoe Blvd. We filled at least 10 one-yard bags AND 2 full dumpsters of trash and overgrown vegetation. Please see the attached pictures!
I want to specifically thank the West Valley Alliance for donating the tools we worked with. I also want to thank John McGovern, as well as Dan Gibson and the Valley Sod Farm for the use of their heavy equipment, which made our ambitious undertaking possible. We purposely chose Roscoe because it is one of the worst kept major thorough fares in the area. In the short term, our Committee will also be focused on cleaning up the industrial dumping ground that is Roscoe and Hayvenhurst. Moving forward, we will be more strategic in our clean-up locations, so that we don’t bite off more than we can chew!
I’d like to poll the Committee (you’re all on it now!) about getting together the morning of either Sat. July 11th or July 25th, to have an informal discussion about next steps for the Committee. There are several areas I’d like to explore, including future community clean-ups, community branding and signage for North Hills, as well as the planters on Hayvenhurst/Plummer. Please let me know which dates work best for you.
Thank you again!

P.S. If I missed anyone who attended, please forward this along!
