The resumption of our monthly meetings will be on Saturday January 28th from 10:00 am to 12:00.
The meeting will take place at the usual location, the Emergency Operations Center
at 500 E. Temple Street (a block east of Alameda).
Enter the parking lot off of Temple Street just past the stop sign.

Our agenda includes a presentation regarding the LA-RICS emergency communications system
by LASD Chief Scott Edson from the LA Sheriff’s Special Operations Division.
Scott also happens to be a ham radio operator holding a General Class license.

We will also talk about a proposal for a joint effort by EMD, EmpowerLA and participating NCs
to get emergency bins deployed in various areas of the city.
This discussion will be led by GM Grayce Liu and EMD’s GM Aram Sahakian.
If you think your NC is interested in being part of the project please attend this meeting.

For those of you who have asked me to define an emergency bin
I’ve also attached photos of one often referred to as a Conex Box or shipping container.
This one is a deluxe model with a side door and heat turbines but as you can see,
it’s basically a shipping container that has been cleaned up and placed on a concrete slab.
