The 3 recurring meeting locations for the monthly NCEPA are:
Emergency Operations Center downtown, 500 E. Temple St. this Saturday January 25th
W. LA Municipal Center, 2nd floor meeting room, enter bldg from north entrance
Mid-Valley Regional Library on Nordoff, just west of Woodley
This month we will be exploring what the city is doing to prepare for one of the Resilient LA stressors, civil unrest. Our speaker, LAPD Sgt Michael Hammett (Officer in charge of the LAPD EP Unit) will discuss how the city has prepared for various scenarios; civil unrest that might be a protest against some thing or someone, and that which might occur days after a major disaster when the city is unable to supply services. We will explore what, if anything NCs can do to help the city prepare for these types of events and what our role might be in the event of civil unrest.
EMD will be reviewing the RYLAN train the trainer program in preparation for the first session that is planned for February 29th (Yes, it’s a leap year) in the Valley, at the Mid-Valley Regional Library.
This should be an interesting meeting and I hope to see many of you there.
