Hi, Everybody:  Happy New Year!  Hope your holidays were safe, healthy and happy and spent with lots of loved ones!  So here it is 2019 and we’re off on another adventure.  This Saturday, 1/12, is our monthly EP Meeting at 9:00 AM at the Flyaway upstairs in the Community Room (COME INSIDE AND TAKE THE ELEVATOR UP, or use the steps outside), at 7610 Woodley Avenue (NE corner of Saticoy and Woodley) in Lake Balboa.  Plenty of FREE PARKING in the short-term lot out fron in the spaces closest to Woodley Ave.
So, what great Holiday “Prepper” (one who prepares) Gifts did you give or receive, or EP Tips did you hear?  Will you share with us?  Bring your neat new gifts and tell us about them!
We’ll have the third DVD Presentation by Dr. Joe and Nurse Amy Alton, this one on Survival Medicine!  The previous presentations have been extremely informative, and I think we’ve all learned a lot from them!  Remember, these DVDs are what we need to know and how to care for our charges when the ambulance is NOT coming, and there’s NO Doctor or Hospital available — not for days, possibly/probably for weeks!  WE are responsible for the health and welfare of our “tribe”, be it our family, or the entire neighborhood!  We’ll be starting our meeting right at 9:00 AM, so be on time, and be sure to bring pen and paper for notes!
Please bring contributions of OPERATION BLANKETS OF LOVE for the animals in Shelters, and also pets owned by the Homeless.  Needed items include clean/new blankets and towels, collars and leashes, food and treats, stainless steel food bowls, crates, igloos, and carriers, litter, flea meds and other dog, cat and bunny related items. NIGHTS ARE COLD NOWWE NEED BLANKETS AND TOWELSREMEMBER:  SHELTERS HAVE NO BUDGET FOR ANY COMFORT ITEMS!  PLEASE BE GENEROUS!
Don’t forget our Sunday morning Lake Balboa Amateur Radio Net — every Sunday, 9:00 AM, Simplex 145.570, and our FRS/GMRS/Walkie-Talkie Check-In, every Sunday at 10:00 AM, Channel 15, or Channel 17 if 15 is busy.  This one is an easy way for EVERYBODY to communicate after a disaster!  Did you get a new radio?  Bring it to the meeting and get answers to your questions from Dan Tomlinson, our EP Communications Chair.
Really looking forward to seeing everybody after the long holidays.  Questions???
