Saturday May 13th from 10am-2pm, LAFD will host special events at the following fire stations – each station will have different free events, demos – cars being cut up, ladder exercises, rides on fire engines and trucks, presentations, free food, family friendly entertainment:
Hello again Battalion 10 friends – hoping you are doing well – wanted to let you know about Saturday’s festivities.
Saturday May 13th is National Fire Service Day – it’s a national day for all fire stations to open their doors and give tours to their communities. This year in LA City – they are honoring CERT as part of their organization and with that – they’ve named me your Valley Honorary Fire Chief for the day 🙂 So kinda fun!
The Bureau Office just let me know that they are giving me an award – it will happen between 10am and 10:30am.. soon after the actual Fire Chief, Kristin Crowley arrives.
Saturday, May 13th
10am – 3pm
Fire Station 88
Fire Station 88 is actually one of the top ‘interesting’ stations in the City because they house the Urban Search and Rescue equipment and teams that go all over the world doing crazy rescues. And at the station that day – there will be live demos, lots of fun for family/kids, photo ops, free preparedness swag. CERT will have a booth at FS88’s – so come by and meet your CERT Battalion Coordinators in person.
