This month’s featured topic for Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 7:00 pm: So Cal Survival (store)
Daysi and Joseph Barbosa are the owners of So Cal Survival (www.socalsurvival.com), an online EP business specializing in earthquake and disaster preparedness that has been helping the community for over five years. Hear about the latest preparedness products, nifty items, and other great ideas for your personal preparedness kits and go-bags.
Welcome to September! It’s National Preparedness Month. Are you prepared? What have you done to prepare since last September? Water barrels filled and secure, or a good stockpile of potable water bottles and containers on hand? Several week’s worth of groceries, or at the very least, a couple of week’s worth? Remember, the old “3-day supply” rule is outdated. Checked your first aid kits for expired products, damaged bandages and replaced as needed? If any family member is on medication(s), do you have an extra supply on hand? Have copies of all those important documents in a sealed and sturdy plastic bag readily accessible? Have a stash (or two) of cash, especially small-denominated bills? You’re not going to get change for those twenties and fifties! Is your 72-Hour Survival Kit (Grab ‘n’ Go bag, bug-out bag, etc.), near the front door and ready to go? Don’t forget your car kits, pet’s kits, office kits, etc.
Attached is our agenda for the Tuesday, September 15, Emergency Preparedness meeting at 7:00 pm at the Granada Hills North Neighborhood Council office, 11139 Woodley Ave., Granada Hills, 91344 (map). Everyone is invited to attend. Plenty of free parking.
Remember our Can of the Month project to collect food for donation to MEND (mendpoverty.org), a local and regional food bank (and so much more). If you are able, please bring one can of food (human or pet) to our meeting. Thank you!
