Hi, Everybody:  Our September LBNC EP Meeting is this Saturday, 9/14/19, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Flyaway Bus Terminal, upstairs on the 2nd Floor in the Community Meeting Room (take the elevator just inside the building or the steps out front), at 7610 Woodley Ave., (NE Corner of Saticoy and Woodley) in Lake Balboa.  Plenty of FREE PARKINGin the short term lot out front in the spaces closest to the street!  See attached Agenda.
September is National Emergency Preparedness Month!  Are you REALLY PREPARED for the inevitable?  Whether it’s wildfires, floods, haz mat spills, gas line breaks, or ?????, we all need to be ready to “bug out” with our family’s neces-sities at a moment’s notice, even if we’re planning to “bug in” for other types of disasters like pandemics, long term power outages, economic catastrophies, etc.
So what do you have in your BOB (Bug Out Bag)?  Bring it to share, and there will be a prize for the best one!  What items should you have in your BOB?  (We’ll bet we can come up with some items that you don’t have, but really should!)
Please don’t forget the animals!  Please bring us contribu-tions for OPERATION BLANKETS OF LOVE for the animals in Shelters, and pets owned by the Homeless Folks.  We need clean/new blankets and towels, collars and leashes, food and treats, stainless steel food bowls, crates, igloos, and carriers, litter, flea meds and other dog and cat related items.  SHELTERS HAVE NO BUDGET FOR COMFORT ITEMS!  We also need mascara wands, washed in hot water and Dawn Dishwashing Soap, for cleaning/medicating tiny creatures in NC Wildlife Centers.
Also, remember the CERT Battalion 10 Community Meeting on Sunday, September 22, 12:30 to 2:30 PM, at 5056 Van Nuys Blvd. in the Auditorium.  You do NOT have to be CERT trained (open to the entire community) to learn what to do in an Active Shooter scenario.  This will be taught by hostage negotiator and retired police officer, Dan Tomlinson.

Remember our Sunday Morning Lake Balboa Amateur Radio Net, 9:00 AM, Simplex 145.570, and FRS/GMRS/Walkie-Talkie Check In, Sunday Morning, 10:00 AM, Channel 15 (17 if 15 is busy).  We will need to communicate with each other after a disaster when phone lines are down/cell phones are overwhelmed.  Come to our meeting and learn how!
