So, the focus for the July (and September) meeting
will be on disaster-scenario medical care.
For the July meeting – we will specifically focus on Head to Toe assessments then we will break-out into groups to practice.
We will refresh on WHY we do them, HOW to do them,
HOW OFTEN as well as what to look for along the way.
The second station will focus on wound care in a disaster environment. We will practice bandaging and splinting tricky wounds like heads,
legs, ankles using everyday supplies (magazines, cardboard boxes).
(I will bring practice bandages and splints.)
Note, the air conditioning may not be working –
so please bring water & dress accordingly.
PPE will not be required for this meeting-
so feel free to leave PPE at home.
