Dear North Hills West Neighborhood Council board members,

First, we at the department would like to acknowledge the work of the North Hills West Neighborhood Council (NHWNC) over the years and the commitment of the current board members to serve as a voice for the community through the Neighborhood Council. On September 21, 2023, the North Hills West Neighborhood Council (NHWNC) was unable to establish a quorum for the third time in the 1st quarter of the fiscal year, and because of this, the board was unable to meet. To assist the NHWNC in reaching a meeting, the Department will place the board in Exhaustive Efforts (EE).  Putting the NHWNC in Exhaustive Efforts should not be viewed as punitive. This just gives the NHWNC a chance to have a lower quorum and fill vacancies. In the attached letter, you’ll see that it says you will be in Exhaustive Efforts for two (2) months. But, that’s just in case you can’t achieve quorum for your regular board meeting in October. We are here to support you and work with you. Please see attached letter for more information and let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

John Darnell
