- Valor Academy School wishes to construct a 500+ school on Haskell between Roscoe and Parthenia; which was where the Nursery was located.
They have made changes to the plans and everyone should be in attendance to listen to what they have and voice your opinion
If you have the time, it would be beneficial for you, as a North Hills West resident, to attend this meeting and see what the proposal is.
The school will be presenting their new design. Please share to all you know in the area.

2. MTA’s proposal to construct a “busway” and we assume down the middle of the road; on either Parthenia, Nordhoff, Roscoe, or Haskell and we are not sure if they are considering Sepulveda or Woodley as well in the other direction.
If you are not aware you need to become aware! This will affect all of the residents. Again we are not sure how far this busway will go; possibility it will start in Van Nuys and continue all the way to the end of the SFV. Please also keep in mind that if this/these busways are approved there is a Bill/SB50 prepared by Scott Weiner which in “readers digest version” will approve contractors to purchase the single family homes along the entire stretch of busway, demolish the homes and construct high rise-high density apartment buildings; destroying our way of life.
As an example, if they put the busway on Roscoe Blvd. all the homes from Roscoe up to Chase Street can be demolished and apartments constructed in the entire area; however, if a resident does not want to sell, then your home will be the ONLY home surrounded by apartment buildings! Does that seem fair to you? It definitely does not seem fair to me and my family and neighbors!
The MTA is holding meetings in the following locations before the project is scheduled for consideration on Thursday September 26 at the Metro Board of Directors regular meeting. You will have approximately 2 minutes to give your statement. They are as follows:
